The Don Pepe coffee plantation is one of the most famous coffee farms in the Boquete region of Panama, located at an altitude of between 1,600 and 1,800 meters above sea level, and has been producing excellent coffee for many years. Don Pepe Estate was founded in 1899 by Enrique Vasquez and has been growing coffee for four generations. In 2007, it was awarded "Best of Panama" for the best Panamanian Arabica coffee. The exceptional properties of the coffee are due to the soil and climate conditions, especially the volcanic soil of the humid tropical forest on the slopes of the Barú volcano.
The SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) designation means that, thanks to their high altitude, the beans grow more slowly and thus concentrate the maximum flavor inside the bean. The flavor is exceptionally rich. A perfect symphony of sweet fruit, caramel, candied orange peel, deliciously complemented by vanilla and delicate spices. The rich and creamy aftertaste lingers for an incredibly long time.
